The Digital Land plot next to the main temple of Mexico. The basilica is located in the north of Mexico City, on the place where almost 500 years ago a poor Indian peasant Juan Diego saw the vision of the Virgin Mary. The miraculous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe Acheiropoieta, a Greek word meaning: “made without hand.” It is said to have come into existence miraculously, not created by a human painters and is still carefully preserved in the basilica to this day and is the most revered shrine of the people of Mexico.
Today, there is a whole complex of temples of different centuries on the hill: the Basilica Museum with a magnificent exposition of religious art and the Panteón del Tepeyac, where ordinary citizens and the most famous people of the country rest. There is a stunning view of the city from the very top of the hill.
Every year, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is celebrated on December 12th on the square in front of the Basilica. On this day, millions of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world gather in front of the temple. In general, according to statistics, over 14 million people visit the basilica in a year.
