The Digital Land plot at the Amsterdam’s most controversial neighbourhood. The Red Light District is located in the oldest area of city also known as De Wallen. For at least 600 years, locals, sailors and travelers have come to this part of Amsterdam for adult entertainment in the many bars, brothels and eateries. These days most tourists can’t help gaping at the narrow windows displaying sparsely dressed women under red lights. Its lattice of narrow streets contains about 400 windows and it is the center of all the activities when talking about this profession. You can find a great variety of adult shops, strip clubs, erotic theaters and neon-lit exotic shows draw in curious. A popular destination for visitors is the Museum of Erotism with exhibits from around the globe, which is the oldest museum of its type in the world.
But the heart of Amsterdam is much more than that. Thе historic locally with cobblestone streets, leaning gabled houses and the most charming canals still features dozens of historic sites reflecting and commemorating its long history. The neighbourhood is chock-full of interesting shops, pubs, fantastic restaurants and and cozy cafés. Contrary to popular belief, the Red Light District is actually the safest area in Amsterdam as clusters of policemen are always on duty.
