Castel Sant'Angelo, Rome, Italy
The plot of the Digital Land near the grandiose Castel Sant'Angelo built on the bank of Tiber nearly 2 thousand years ago. For the long story it served as a tomb of the Roman emperor Adrian, the residence of pontiffs, a powerful defensive fort and, certainly, terrible prison. Here in due time the famous scientist-astrologer Giordano Bruno, the mysterious count Cagliostro and Benvenuto Cellini, the talented sculptor and the thorough adventurer pined. The last one, by the way, became the only thing who managed to run away from a lock dungeon.
Today in a labyrinth of halls of an ancient citadel the collection of the Military and historical museum is located. There come thousands of tourists to see rare treasures of church and luxurious papal apartments, unique ancient weapon and confidential military archives. Fortress remains one of the most interesting and beautiful monuments of Rome. Guests are welcomed by the elegant bridge through Tiber, to Bernini decorated with statues of angels of work. In the 16th century on it exposed bodies of the criminals executed in the lock. From observation decks of fortress opens one of the best views of the central part of the city. But special good luck to get to the lock of the Angel in holidays when here light and laser shows take place.
